The role of the expert witness
An expert witness is someone with the appropriate experience and qualifications to allow them to give their opinion on matters which are
the subject of litigation and which are within their specialist area. When they are giving evidence to the court, either in the form of a report
or verbally, they are independent of both parties and have a duty to the court. Their role is to help the court to understand the specialist

Our expert witness has over thirty years experience in his specialist area and this means that he probably has a 'hands-on' knowledge of most
problems likely to be encountered in this field. In addition he is a Chartered Engineer and also a member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management.
